Definition

Reflexology is a natural healing art based on the understanding that there are reflexes in the feet, hands and ears which correspond to every part, gland and organ of the body. The physical image of the body is mapped onto the feet in logical anatomical pattern; the toes represent the head, the ball of the foot corresponds to the internal organs and the heel of the foot corresponds to the pelvic region of the body. Similar maps of reflexes are found on the hands and ears.

Benefits

Through application of pressure on these reflexes, the benefits derived from Reflexology are listed below, but not limited to:

  • improves circulation;
  • relieves tension;
  • brings the body into balance (the physical, mental and emotional aspects of the body);
  • promotes the natural function of the related area in the body;
  • re-energizes;
  • promotes overall wellness and health.
